Youth

St. Paul’s cares deeply about raising up our youth to be wise, vibrant, caring, and deeply spiritual people. Youth have fun and meaningful experiences as part of a loving, safe, and nurturing community.

Our programs for youth are grounded in a comprehensive ecology of faith formation. The youth are valued members of St. Paul’s and have a wide variety of rich and rewarding ways to grow in their faith and form deep and lasting relationships with one another as they:

  • serve as acolytes, lay readers, ushers, and choir members;
  • participate in Sunday morning formation and evening Youth Group activities;
  • join in Drama Dreamers productions;
  • take part in the Confirmation Program;
  • engage in service projects;
  • go on mission trips, choir trips, and diocesan events.

The Journey to Adulthood curriculum is the core of our youth ministry programming for 6th-12th graders. This successful program, developed over the last 20 years in the Episcopal Church, combines elements of Sunday morning church school and evening Youth Group programming into a flexible schedule of opportunities for learning, service, music, worship, and lots of fun.

The Confirmation Program is a one-year opportunity for youth in grades nine and up to question and explore the foundations of our faith. Youth meet with clergy and staff to discuss scripture, explore the Episcopal tradition, and connect it with their lives.

C.A.S.T. is an opportunity for youth to build relationships and grow in faith as they produce, direct, act, and serve as tech and stage crew for annual productions of Advent Dessert Theater and a spring musical. Adults serve as coordinator, music director, and tech advisor to support these efforts. Recent musical productions have included: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, and Fiddler on the Roof.

All clergy, staff members, and volunteers who work with children and youth at St. Paul’s are trained in Safeguarding God’s Children, a child abuse awareness and prevention education program offered through the Church Pension Group of The Episcopal Church.
