April has been a member of St. Paul’s since 2000, when she moved from southern Ohio to Northeast Ohio. She lives in Geauga County on 2.5 acres of rural land, where she enjoys the peace of country living, gardening, nature walks, and life with her three beloved “fur children,” Gunnar, Keegan, and Destiny. Together, they participate in agility, training, and breed shows.

April is a retired educator, having served in the field of special education for 32 years. She also recently retired from a K–12 software company, where she worked for 10 years as a product manager supporting education-focused systems and solutions.

Over the years, April has been actively involved in many areas of ministry and service at St. Paul’s. She has been a member of the Altar Guild for 20 years and has served as President of the Altar Guild since 2019. She has also served as a Vestry member, Sunday School teacher, usher, lector, chalice minister, and Lay Eucharistic Minister since 2020.

April is also involved in outreach ministries, including Loaves and Fishes, the Women’s Cooking Crew, and the Mobile Pantry in partnership with St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Serving the St. Paul’s community and its surrounding neighbors is an important part of her faith and church life.

Following the death of her husband, April’s mother, Ann Kitchen, came to live with her and now attends St. Paul’s alongside her. April is grateful for the love, fellowship, and support of the St. Paul’s community and continues to find joy in worship, service, nature, and time spent with family — both two-legged and four-legged.
