The Complete Choral Works of Maurice Duruflé
The Senior Choir of St. Paul’s presents the complete choral works of Maurice Duruflé. Duruflé’s insistence on precision resulted in a relatively small catalogue of compositions. Despite the lack of quantity, his works have exerted an oversized influence on 20th-century French music.
Included are the Four Motets on Gregorian Themes, the Notre-Père, the rarely heard Messe ‘cum jubilo’ for male choir, and the beloved and mystically transparent Requiem. The concert features Artist-in-Residence Todd Wilson as organist. Kevin Jones conducts.
