The Feast of St. Joseph honors the man chosen by God to be the guardian of Jesus and the husband of Mary. Scripture portrays Joseph as a man of quiet strength, deep faith, and tender obedience—one who, even when faced with confusion and distress, trusted in God’s guidance and accepted his vocation with humility. He protected Mary and the infant Jesus, leading them to safety in Egypt, and raised Jesus in Nazareth as a faithful Jew and skilled craftsman.

Known as “Joseph the Carpenter,” he is revered as the patron saint of workers and families, embodying the dignity of labor and the holiness of daily life. Though the Gospels tell us little about him, Joseph’s example of righteousness, compassion, and steadfast devotion has inspired generations of Christians to trust in God’s will and to serve faithfully in the quiet tasks of love and duty.
