Join us for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist on the Feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle.

St. Andrew is best known as the brother of Simon Peter, yet he holds a distinct and important place among the apostles. Once a disciple of John the Baptist, Andrew was among the first to follow Jesus after John proclaimed him as the Lamb of God. His immediate response was to bring his brother to Christ, making Andrew the first missionary in the circle of disciples.

Though not part of Jesus’ inner three—Peter, James, and John—Andrew appears in key moments, including when he brought the boy with the loaves and fishes to Jesus at the feeding of the multitude. The Gospels portray him as one eager to connect others to Christ. While little is known about his later ministry, early tradition claims he preached in Scythia and was martyred on an X-shaped cross. Honored as the patron saint of Scotland, Andrew is remembered as one who quietly but faithfully led others to the Lord.
