Our parish is blessed with so many opportunities to share our time, talent, and treasure. Stewardship is our opportunity to share our resources with one another and the wider community. With grateful hearts we pledge a portion of what God has given to us each year.
Those églises, chiese, Kirchen, and catedrales you may have visited in Europe or admired in travel documentaries receive a portion of their funding from the state. Like every religious organization in the 250-year-old USA, St. Paul’s is a fully self-funded organization. The money we have comes from ourselves—pledges, endowments, and gifts—with annual pledges being the largest portion, approximately 70%.
Our pledges are how we fund our programming, share our blessings with our siblings via outreach, pay the wages of our wonderful clergy and staff, maintain our beautiful physical buildings and grounds, and frankly “keep the lights on and the water running.”
All gifts are appreciated and contribute to the ministries of the church. But rather than giving intermittently as we can, when we indicate our sustained financial support by submitting our pledge, the Vestry can prudently create the annual budget. With an accurate and reliable budget, clergy and staff can confidently plan for personnel, programming, and outreach for the upcoming year.
We may be just returning to our program year, but planning for the 2027 Annual Fund Campaign has been in progress since May!
Your Stewardship Committee works with other committees and volunteers, with leadership from T.J. Freeman and Pam O’Halloran, and with support from Communications Manager Laurel Steinetz.
If you have any questions or concerns, or you are interested in joining our small, but mighty, committee, please reach out to Andy Wheaton (AJWheaton@Gmail.com).
