DESCRIPTION:Polyphony was formed by Stephen Layton in 1986 for a concert in King’s College Chapel\, Cambridge. Since then\, the choir has recorded regularly and performed worldwide to great critical acclaim. \nRecent reviews declare Polyphony as “one of the best small choirs now before the public” (Telegraph) and “possibly the best small professional chorus in the world” (Encore Magazine\, USA). \nIn a poll by Gramophone magazine\, they were named as one of the world’s leading choirs: “Stephen Layton’s choir have become renowned for both their sound and versatility – whether in early music\, or contemporary works such as those of Eric Whitacre\, they embody the remarkable tradition of British choral excellence at its finest.” \nAdvance ticket sales have ended. Tickets will be available at the door. No cash is accepted at the door. \n$25 general admission. Student tickets are only $10. \nTickets are non-refundable. General Admission seats are first-come\, first served\, with seating in the Nave\, Chapel\, and Balcony. Doors open 7:00-7:30 p.m. Late arrivals will be sat between songs.

SUMMARY:The Complete Choral Works of Maurice Duruflé
DESCRIPTION:The Senior Choir of St. Paul’s presents the complete choral works of Maurice Duruflé. Duruflé’s insistence on precision resulted in a relatively small catalogue of compositions. Despite the lack of quantity\, his works have exerted an oversized influence on 20th-century French music. \nIncluded are the Four Motets on Gregorian Themes\, the Notre-Père\, the rarely heard Messe ‘cum jubilo’ for male choir\, and the beloved and mystically transparent Requiem. The concert features Artist-in-Residence Todd Wilson as organist. Kevin Jones conducts.

DESCRIPTION:In the Foyer\, outside Tucker Hall \nFor more than 20 years\, St. Paul’s has partnered with Fairhill Partners’ Kinship Care program to provide holiday gifts to children being raised by their grandparents. Our partnership has provided hundreds of Christmas gifts to local children throughout the years. \nYour contribution is worth more than the price of the gift. By doing the shopping (online or in-store) and gift wrapping\, you’re allowing these grandparents to spend more quality time with the children around the holidays. If you will already be finding and wrapping gifts for your family\, pick up an extra present (or two) and spread even more holiday cheer! \n\nNames and wish lists of children\, along with all other needed details\, will be available on Sundays in November outside Tucker Hall.\nFollow the instructions from Fairhill Partners for labeling the gift.\nDeliver the gift to the parish office no later than Tuesday\, December 2. Please check with the office to make sure they are open. Our partnership has provided hundreds of Christmas gifts to local children throughout the years. \nIf you picked up a wish list for a child\, remember to purchase and wrap it\, add labels\, and bring it to the parish office no later than Tuesday\, December 2. Please check with the office to make sure they are open. SUMMARY:From Darkness to Light: An Advent Procession of Lessons and Carols
DESCRIPTION:As part of the quiet reflection and joyful expectation that the yearly observance of Advent brings\, this candlelit service of scripture\, hymns\, and anthems moves us from the creation story\, to prophecy\, to the coming of the Kingdom of God. The liturgy will again be formed around the “O Antiphons\,” seven ancient antiphons that are the basis for “O come\, O come\, Emmanuel.” \nThe St. Paul’s Ringers begin at 4:45 p.m. Chants\, carols\, and hymns are sung by the Senior\, Youth\, St. Cecilia and St. David Choirs. Congregational hymns feature prominently throughout the liturgy. A carillon concert follows. A series of O Antiphon banners designed by Robyn Sand Anderson are processed at the singing of each Antiphon. The offering will benefit our non-profit community partners.
